This summer's 3-day Osheaga Festival in Canada will see each of its anticipated 130,000+ attendees don the latest in wearable event tech - an RFID wristband.

The custom cloth RFID wristbands, supplied by ID&C will act as tickets for all audience members, staff, press and crew - granting access to designated areas as appropriate.

The system made its first appearance at the 2013 edition of Osheaga and will, again be provided by Canadian-based promoter Evenko, with support from specialist technology company RFID Academia.

Along with the custom development of ID&C's RFID wristbands, the collaborative RFID solution is set to expand on last year's success by rolling-out to wider areas of the festival site. In addition to this, there will be increased opportunities for patrons to engage with RFID-based social media applications during the event - a proven way for festivals to connect with, and grow their online audience.

In 2013, RFID technology helped Osheaga Festival reach 7.8 million people online, with over 24,000 interactions made during the event's three days.

The system also delivers post-festival analysis, helping Osheaga organisers to segment audience profiles - enabling the personalisation of festival experiences at future editions of the festival.
