A series of wristbands have been created by ID&C to raise awareness of the devastating consequences of cyberbullying.
ID&C, the UK’s leading provider of wristbands and lanyards, has launched a series of wristbands in a bid to raise awareness of the devastating consequences of cyberbullying.
They’ve been released to mark Anti Bullying Alliance’s Anti Bullying Week campaign which runs all this week.
According to figures, 24% of children and young people will experience some form of cyberbullying, 17% of children and young people will cyberbully others with name calling being the most common type of cyberbullying.
The wristbands ID&C has created all feature ‘positive’ slogans on them to remind youngsters who might be being bullied that they are enough and it’s okay to tell someone about what they are going through.

The theme for Anti-Bullying Week, which runs all this week (12th-16th November 2018), is entitled ‘Choose Respect’. It was chosen based on a consultation with more than 800 children, teachers and members.
Claire Jones from ID&C said: “We hope these wristbands will help to raise awareness of bullying and cyberbullying in a bid to help empower young people and stamp it out.
“It’s important to encourage those who are victims of bullying to speak out and that there is support available out there for them.
“Young people have the right to feel safe; victims of bullying are often too afraid to tell anyone about their experiences and tend to suffer in silence.
“Awareness needs to be raised in order for others to be able to spot the signs when someone is being bullied so they can take the appropriate action.
“We are seeing an increase in young victims of cyberbullying who are struggling to cope, turning to self-harm and even suicide.
“So there definitely needs to be more action taken to tackle this issue, to provide support for those victims, and we need to ensure children are better protected.
“Given the current climate where children are spending more of their time on social platforms thanks to the easy access of technology, it means vulnerable young people are more exposed to the dangers of cyberbullying and other forms of online abuse.
“We hope these wristbands will help raise awareness for victims of bullying and give them the confidence to speak out”
