Continuing its trend as pioneer of contactless technology, (in 2012 it was the first UK festival to offer RFID-based cashless payments across the entire site) last weekend, 50,000 Isle of Wight fans gained access to the festival's campsites via contactless barcode technology.

Working directly with Isle of Wight organisers, ID&C developed a bespoke barcoded wristband that featured a waterproof and scratchproof barcode sticker attached to the company's patented Smartlock wristband closure.

The fabric wristbands, that for Isle of Wight weekend campers, were sent out in advance in replace of festival tickets - were scanned-in using In-Site technology, a new system provided by Intelligent Venue Solutions.

The 2013 Isle of Wight Festival featured headline performances from The Stone Roses, The Killers and Bon Jovi.
