Looe Music Festival in South East Cornwall has been awarded ID&C's Grass Roots Bursary for 2014, bagging itself £2500 towards its security wristbands and accreditation.

Held annually on Looe beach, the award winning, not-for-profit festival has grown from a modest 100 fans, to a staggering 6000 attendees in just three years.

Described by the Cornwall Guardian as 'a beautifully higgledy piggledy smorgasbord of entertainment', the three-day live music gig has become a tourism magnet for the quaint seaside town.

ID&C's Matt Wilkey, "Looe Music Festival ticks all the boxes a grass roots festival should. There is a truly 'by the people, for the people' spirit and we're very happy to award them the bursary this year."

A registered Charity, Looe Music Festival was born from a desire to create a celebration of arts, culture and marine life during what was a period of economic difficulty for the town.

"I can't express how delighted we all are about receiving the Grass Roots Bursary. We're excited to have the opportunity to work with ID&C this year and benefit from their expertise in access control." - Tanya Brittain, Looe Music Festival Director.

Now in its fourth year, the event is thriving and helps to boost consumer-spend during the festival weekend with a reported £1.8m generated for the harbour town in 2013.

Looe Music Festival takes place between 19th - 21st September. Acts performing live this year include Frank Turner, Squeeze and The Brand New Heavies.
